🧠 The 10-Second Anxiety Check-In That Changes Everything
Jun 09, 2025
🔍 What It Is
One of the most powerful tools I use—with clients and myself—is a simple 10-second anxiety check-in.
Imagine anxiety on a scale from 1 to 10:
-
1 = perfect peace
-
10 = overwhelmed and shutting down
Take a moment now: Where are you on that scale right now?
🌿 Why It Matters
Most days, I live in the 2–3 zone: calm, alert, and focused. I have big goals—but I also have a plan. I take daily steps with peace and clarity.
After a recent car accident, I noticed my baseline shift to a 4–5. That awareness wasn’t a problem—it was a signal. I needed to process the experience and implement strategies to return to calm.
🚨 Think of It Like a Dashboard Light
Just like your car’s fuel light reminds you to stop for gas, your anxiety check-in reminds you to pause, recalibrate, and refuel emotionally.
Knowing your baseline helps you:
-
Slow down before burnout
-
Implement strategies that work with your biology
-
Reach out for support when needed
👥 What Clients Experience
When clients first begin working with me, they’re often living at a 6–7 daily. It’s affecting their:
-
Happiness
-
Gut health
-
Relationships
-
Emotional clarity
After our sessions, their baseline drops by 2+ points. They move from survival mode to a more peaceful, regulated state. It’s not magic—it’s science.

🧔 June Is Men’s Mental Health Month
Men often carry emotional burdens differently—and are less encouraged to talk about them. It’s estimated that 100 men die by suicide each day.
Please check in with the men in your life. Send love. Ask questions. Hold space.
I work with both men and women, though most of my clients are women. Let’s normalize support for everyone.
